Cassia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Friends University and has been working in the massage therapy profession since 2011, having her national affiliation through ABMP. Cassia’s passion for increased knowledge of how massage therapy works from a scientific point of view coincides with her view of massage as an art form. She has experience with a wide range of clientele and techniques and brings this to the classroom, along with her desire for perpetual learning and discovery. She is a part-time instructor.
Wichita Instructors
Stephanie Teasley, BS, MA, MA – Adjunct Instructor
Stephanie earned her BS in Anthropology from Kansas State University and an MA in Biological Anthropology from the University of Colorado after which she spent nearly a decade teaching gross anatomy. She served as the Course Director for Systemic Anatomy for Cleveland Chiropractic College and assisted first and second year medical courses at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She is also a yoga instructor and massage therapist, allowing her to speak to specific areas of inquiry for massage students. Stephanie is a part-time instructor.
Christa Shue, DC, BS, RN – Adjunct Instructor
Christa has taught as an adjunct instructor in many different disciplines at the postsecondary level since 2011; including Psychology, Sociology, Environmental Sciences, Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology. She has a passion for teaching and brings enthusiasm for learning to the classroom. Dr. Shue desires, strives and makes every effort to achieve and bring about a difference in the lives of her students by incorporating science, evidence and research and as well as real-world experience. Dr. Shue is a part-time instructor.
Carlie Rueger, LMT – Adjunct Instructor
Carlie received her Certification in Therapeutic Massage from Heritage College as well as her National Certification through NCBTMB in 2011. Shortly after, she became an independent contractor at Pomeroy Chiropractic. She worked with chiropractors across Wichita for two years and then decided to open her own practice: Versatile Massage, in Goddard in 2017, which continues to grow today. Carlie looks forward to not only bringing her knowledge of over seven years of diverse clientele and experiences to the classroom, but also her desire to make a difference. Carlie is a part-time instructor.
Bidisha Roy, BA – Adjunct Instructor
Bidisha earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of California, San Diego and is actively pursuing her Master’s in Healthcare Informatics at University of San Diego. She has been in the healthcare industry for five years and has completed her pre-nursing coursework at Wichita State University. Bidisha has been a Teaching Assistant at Wichita State University Health Sciences Department and brings to the classroom her experience in direct patient care and her desire to be constantly involved in the process of learning. She is a part-time instructor.
LeAnn Norris, LMT – Adjunct Instructor
LeAnn Norris has been providing therapeutic massage services to the state of Kansas since 2006 after receiving her certificate. LeAnn has trained in various modalities including deep tissue, myo-skeletal, spontaneous muscle release technique, prenatal, spa treatments, lymphatic drainage for the face and hot stone. She also holds an Esthetics license. LeAnn is eager to help others learn the healing benefits of massage therapy. She also maintains her own massage and spa practice. LeAnn is a part-time faculty member.
My-Trinh Nguyen, BS – Adjunct Instructor
My-Trinh earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Wichita State University and has the desire to pursue graduate studies in the near future. She has had experience tutoring and teaching students of all ages in a wide range of subjects. She wishes to make a positive impact in the lives of others, inside as well as outside of the classroom. She is a part-time instructor.
Sue Looney, LMT – Adjunct Instructor
Sue started her career in massage therapy in 1995. She has an extensive massage background. She has trained worldwide including Sweden, Italy, Finland, Mexico and Hawaii. She trained with Dr. Myk Hungerford for 9 years and has worked with the U.S. Olympic teams as well as the Ironman Triathlete World Championships as part of the acute cramp care section. She has also worked with the Ultraman World Championships as both a massage therapist and medical director. She has served as a massage therapy instructor at multiple institutions since 2000. She is a part-time instructor.
Terri Lees, BS, MS, LMT – Adjunct Instructor
Terri is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and owner of Lees Therapeutic Solutions. She has a Masters Degree in Physical Education and Sports Science from Emporia State University in Kansas and massage certification from Wellspring School of Allied Health in Kansas City MO. Terri has taught for over 40 years at many different levels, high school, college and community education. Terri is a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist with NASM. She practices massage at Trinity Chiropractic and describes herself as a committed professional whose mission is to help improve quality of life by educating people about the benefits of massage. Terri is a part-time instructor.
Mary Jo James, CMT LMT MMT – Adjunct Instructor
Mary Jo is a graduate of Wichita Therapeutic Massage School and has been certified, licensed and practicing massage since 1998. She is certified by the Sports Massage Training Institute in 1999. She open and began running her massage business, Massage Matters!, in 2000 to present day. She is experienced in several modalities of massage such as Deep Tissue, Assisted Stretching, CranioSacral, Kinesiology Taping, MyoSkeletal, MyoFascial Release and many other modalities and enjoys learning from instructors around the Nation. She served as the team sports massage therapist for Wichita Wings Soccer Team 2012-2013 and Wichita B-52s Soccer Team in 2014. In July of 2018, she earned her Masters in MyoSkeletal Bodywork. Mary Jo is currently practicing massage therapy in Kansas at her own private practice. Mary Jo is a part-time instructor.
Amanda Hinton, LMT – Adjunct Instructor
Amanda Hinton studied at Central Oregon Community College, earning her Associates Degree of Applied Sciences in Massage Therapy in 2011. She has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2012. She has trained in deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, pre-natal massage, hot stone massage, cupping, Thai massage, Cranial Sacral, and Quashaw. Amanda is excited to pursue her dream of teaching massage and passing on her passion for massage to her students. Amanda is a part-time instructor.
