This test measures a participant’s heart rate after a brisk 1-mile walk in order to determine their level of fitness. The participant’s age, weight, gender, and walk time are also factored into their fitness calculation. By using the Rockport fitness test, personal trainers are better able to design workout plans that meet their clients where they are. In addition, a client’s starting Rockport fitness score allows their trainer to more accurately track progress over time.
