A recent article in the New York Times on sports massage recently got my attention. The article states that sports massage is growing in popularity among amateur athletes, although the technique and styles of sports massages is quite varied. Furthermore, the scientific benefits of sports massage aren’t fully clear, the article says.
Just from my personal experience, I know that after a week of hard workouts and regular running, a deep sports massage is just what the doctor ordered, but what about you? Have you had a sports massage? If you’re a massage therapist, do you offer sports massage. If so, what techniques do you use? Tell us in the comments below!
