According to new research, the incidence of weight-lifting injuries is on the rise. In fact, the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital found that more than 970,000 weight training-related injuries were treated in U.S. hospital emergency departments between 1990 and 2007, increasing nearly 50 percent during the 18-year study period. Fifty percent!

We all know how important lifting weights is for losing weight, increasing bone density and improving overall health and wellness, but this study points to the need for more education when it comes to proper form when weight training. It’s studies like these that show how important it is to work with a certified personal trainer to reach your health and wellness goals!
