In a new study from the University of Missouri-Columbia, researchers found that 73 percent of patients receiving non-contact therapeutic touch (more commonly known as energy work or energy healing) experienced a significant reduction in pain, had fewer requests for medication and slept more comfortably following surgery than patients who did not receive energy work.
Although this Asian practice has been going on for hundreds of years, it’s nice to see some scientific research to back it up, especially as “alternative medicine” may not be as “alternative” as we once thought.
