Shannon Baisden MA, has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from University of California, Davis, a Master’s degree in Sport Sciences from the University of the Pacific, and Professional Teaching Credential in Health, Biological Sciences, and Physical Education, in both California and Missouri. Shannon is certified as an Advanced Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She is also a nationally certified Health Coach by the American Council on Exercise, as well as an Elite Trainer, Certified Fitness Trainer, Group Exercise Specialist, and Fitness Nutrition Specialist by the International Sports Sciences Association. She is a part-time instructor and Assistant Program Manager.

Scott Lofquist, CPT
Scott Lofquist, CPT, graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Scott holds multiple certifications in the health and wellness industry including RKC certified Kettlebell Instructor, NESTA personal trainer and biomechanics specialist, and CrossFit Level 1 and II Certified Instructor. Scott has competed in Olympic trials in both track and field and heavyweight lifting. It is Scott’s desire to bring his experience to the classroom in hopes of being a small part of launching people’s professional careers in the fitness industry. He is a part-time instructor.
Sam McGriff, PES
Sam McGriff, CSCS, SCCC, earned his master’s degree in Exercise Science from the California University of Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Navy as an Operations Officer after earning his Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Fitness from the University of Missouri. He has been the strength and conditions coach for the Pembroke Hill School since 2013. Prior to coaching, he worked as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. Sam is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, and a Strength and Conditioning Coach – Certified (SCCC) through the CSCCa. He holds additional certifications through NASM, USAW and NASE. As a teacher, Sam shares in his student’s aspirations and aims to make the world stronger. He is a part-time instructor.
Monique McDaniel, CPT – Program Manager, Fitness & Nutrition
Monique McDaniel, B.A, CPT, is an experienced Health and Wellness advocate with over 25 years of motivational speaking, teaching, personal training and health club management. She received her BA in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas and is currently a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Monique is owner and creator of MYTMO FITNESS, an organization that works with diverse communities helping to solve the problems associated with obesity and chronic disease. As Program Manager, she brings a wealth of experience, creativity and an enthusiastic attitude to the program and her classroom. To date, she has successfully taught over 50 Allied Health student who have gone on to receive their certifications and are currently in careers they enjoy. When not in the classroom, you will find her teaching Spin Classes at Kirmayer Fitness Center on the KU medical Center Campus and leading Bootcamp classes at Everfit Gym in Shawnee.
Travis Barnhart, LMT
Travis Barnhart, LMT, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Washburn University in 2003, completed the Massage Therapy Training program at MTTI-Wellspring in 2010, and transitioned from social work into computer programming after completing the Full Stack Web Developer program at Centriq Training in 2018. Travis currently works full-time in technology. During nearly 20 years as a social worker, Travis worked primarily in public health and provided workshops on a variety of subjects as well as serving as a field instructor to multiple social work students during their internships. Travis loves to teach and help others grow and brings that enthusiasm to teaching at Wellspring. Travis is a part-time instructor.
Adam Meyer, CPT
Adam Meyer, CPT, began training in WTF Tae Kwon Do as a child and received a black belt in 1998. That experience led him to pursue a career as a Personal Trainer starting in 2005. While working as a trainer, he received a second black belt in ITF Tae Kwon Do and became an instructor. Over the years, Adam conducted close to 15,000 one-on-one personal training sessions, as well as hundreds of Boot Camp, Kickboxing, Boxing and traditional Tae Kwon Do classes. He enjoys watching students’ progress from a basic level of knowledge to a true understanding and the ability to apply that knowledge. Adam is excited to bring this approach to a new group of knowledge seekers at Wellspring. He is a part-time instructor.
Martha Estevez, MA
Martha Estevez, CMA, graduated from Heritage College with an Associate’s of Applied Science degree in X-Ray Tech and Medical Assisting. She received Academic and Attendance honors during her time at Heritage College. Martha was hired on at Encompass Medical as a float, learning all areas and all doctor’s routines quickly and efficiently. Within a short time, Martha committed to one doctor in family practice and excelled for seven years with this provider including training employees. Needing to devote more time to her family, Martha moved to part time at an Urgent Care and has now joined the Wellspring team in an effort to apply all these skills and more to ensure students are well equipped and excel in the field. She is a part-time instructor.
Dr. Rebbecca Templeton, DC – Program Manager, Massage Therapy
Dr. Rebbecca Templeton, D.C., earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College. She also attended Missouri State University where she earned a BS in Psychology and Heritage College where she earned her Associates degree in Massage Therapy. She currently practices chiropractic and teaches part-time at Wellspring. Dr. Templeton has a passion for learning and wished to pass this passion on to other young minds.
